Oscar De La Hoya trolls Stephen A Smith, Mayweather defending
By Mike Dyce
Former boxer Oscar De La Hoya trolls Stepeh A. Smith for his constant Floyd Mayweather pandering and defending.
After news broke that Rachel Nichols and Michelle Beadle both said on Twitter that they were not given credentials for the Floyd Mayweather fight against Manny Pacquiao the internet had a lot of reactions and Twitter was on fire.
There might not have been a better response than that of former boxer Oscar De La Hoya.
A classic troll and an easy shot at Stephen A. Smith, who has been in Mayweather’s corner while more and more questions build about his past and domestic violence.
Of course there is wide speculation that Michelle Beadle and Rachel Nichols weren’t given credentials because they ask tough questions and hold his feet to the fire. Nichols already had a confrontational interview with Mayweather back in September when she repeatedly asked about his past in the wake of the Ray Rice situation only to have him duck the questions and not really answer anything.
Stephen A. Smith has been defending Mayweather for a long time and has never believed in any of the domestic violence allegations, despite evidence that says otherwise.
Deadspin wrote a great piece about Smith’s staunch Mayweather pandering, for instance in this interview below when he tries to separate why fans would cheer for Mayweather.
Of course when Smith says things like “When you take the position that you take, Cari, I have no problem with it. You’re a woman, you should feel that way.” Or comments like “Her position is clear. Because she’s a woman, and this is how she feels.”
Makes it easy to understand why Smith defends Mayweather, he has some issues of his own.
