NASCAR Geico 500 at Talladega: Complete finishing order
Dale Earnhardt Jr. picked up his first win of the season at the super speedway giant that is Talladega on Sunday.
Talladega was everything it usually is Sunday; it was filled with wrecks and drivers frantically making a late push for victory.
It was also a big day of the season for Dale Earnhardt Jr., who picked up his first win of the season holding of the rest of the drivers.
Earnhardt Jr. looked like he might have some trouble at the end with debris on the front of his car and getting no water to cool the engine, but he had just enough laps to finish.
His teammate, Jimmie Johnson, who already has a couple of victories this year, held off the rest of the aggressive pack to allow Earnhardt Jr. to pick up his first win of the year.
Earnhardt Jr. was noticeably emotional after talking about how just a few days ago would have been his dad’s birthday and how he was blessed with everything in his life.
With Dale Earnhardt Jr. picking up the big win much to the delight of the crowd, here is the complete finishing order for Sunday’s GEICO 500.
