It appears that Manny Pacquiao may not have been lying about that shoulder injury after all, as he’s getting set to undergo surgery

Following his unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night, Manny Pacquiao revealed to the media in the post-fight press conference that he had been suffering from a shoulder injury. As a matter of fact, he also said that he was denied a shot by the commission in the locker room prior to stepping into the ring with Mayweather so he can numb the pain.

Well, not only was he not lying like a lot of people thought he might have been, but the injury might be a little more serious than we all thought, because he’s about to go under the knife.

According to his doctor, Pacquiao will be undergoing a procedure to repair a “significant tear” in his rotator cuff.

When Manny Pacquiao first made the announcement on Saturday night, some rolled their eyes at the notion that he was injured, thinking that he was already conjuring up excuses. He said that he had suffered the injury about two weeks ago, and he even had some thoughts about postponing the “Fight of the Century.”

With the news now that Pacquiao has to undergo a pretty significant procedure on his shoulder, it’ll be interesting to see if Saturday was the last time that we ever see him step into a ring.
