The NHL Playoffs are on to the second round and the for the third straight year we’re getting a Wild vs. Blackhawks matchup.Â
Each of the last two years, the Minnesota Wild have made strides with their young roster but in both seasons their year ended with losses to the Chicago Blackhawks in the postseason. It’s been progressive for the Wild though, as they lost in the first-round to the Blackhawks in 2013 and lasted until the second-round in 2014 before Chicago knocked them out.
That’s looking like it might happen again, as the Wild head back home to Minnesota in a 0-2 how to the Blackhawks and Chicago is utterly dominating in every aspect of the game. There has been no room for the Wild to breathe in this series and they nee to try and get their heads back above water in Game 3 in front of a home crowd.
One more loss for the Wild is as good as throwing in the towel on the series, as there is no way a team that can’t win a game against the Blackhawks will win four straight.
Minnesota was very productive in their 2014 loss to the Blackhawks, but it was still a loss. That’s progress and it’s something that the Wild are hoping they can build on. Chicago, on the other hand, are trying to become a true dynasty and win yet another Stanley Cup.
This is going to be one of the best series of the NHL Playoffs and it all gets started tonight.
