Pirates infielders have sweet handshake (GIF)
Pirates infielders Jordy Mercer, Neil Walker have a nifty handshake exchange.
The Pittsburgh Pirates may already be eight games out of first place in the National League Central just 28 games into the 2015 MLB season, but let it never be said they don’t have a bit of team chemistry to build upon.
Shortstop Jordy Mercer and second baseman Neil Walker showed that they are definitely in-sync with one another when they whipped out this little number on the handshake-watching world:
If baseball one day is no longer an option for either player, they might have future careers as chefs lined up. Who knows how their chicken marsala tastes, but they definitely seem to know how to season something that pops just right when it’s beaten into leather.
Walker finished the night going 2-3 with two runs, an RBI, and two walks while Mercer went just 1-4 on the way to a victory for the Pirates over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7-2.
Perhaps if we see Andre McCutchen and Starling Marte develop a handshake of their own, along with everyone else on the roster, Pittsburgh might be able to climb out of their hole in the standings and make some noise in the division. It’s like they always say, a little handshake can go a long way.
