Sean Casey drills co-host with line drive on MLB Network set (Video)
While doing a segment with a wiffleball bat, former MLB player Sean Casey lined one back up the middle and drilled his female co-host in the head.
There might need to be a rule implemented or safety gear provided to protect analysts pitching on set too.
During a segment on the MLB Network, Lauren Shehadi was pitching to her co-host Sean Casey using wiffleball equipment. Unfortunately for Shehadi, Casey, who used to be pretty good at slugging the baseball, shot a line drive back at her and nailed her straight in the head.
Fortunately it was just a plastic ball, but still it look like it hurt a little bit.
Casey immediately ran to check on her and proceeded to hug her.
Not exactly sure how that helps; maybe he could have gotten some ice instead. Luckily she ended up being okay and the wiffleball did no damage. In fact, Casey lifting her up like a caveman probably made it even worse.
The MLB Network proved that pitchers safety extends even past the diamond.
Maybe Casey shouldn’t take a full swing like he’s actually in a game too. That might help.
