Late FanDuel Picks For May 13

There are 12 games in the evening slate on FanDuel. Here are my “Best of the Best selections for FanDuel lineups in the late May 13 contests starting at 7:05pm.

Pitcher

Cole Hamels (PHI) home vs. PIT for $9400:

The veteran left-hander is off to a decent start for the Phillies, with a 3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 46 Ks in 44 IP. His 11.4 FPPG and 2-3 record are more indicative of the Phillies overall team than his performance. Hamels is coming off a strong outing against the Mets last time out, picking up the win with 8 Ks, and only allowing one run and six H/BB in 7 IP. He is likely auditioning for a deadline trade to a contender so expect him to remain sharp. His team and the matchup vs. the Pirates will likely scare people from Hamels at $9400, but the game is about even money. Plus, the Pirates are hitting a deplorable .209 vs. all LHP in 2015, which is 29th in the majors. Take this élite Lefty tonight and you could easily get the top SP performance.

Hitters

2B Robinson Cano (SEA) home vs. SD (Shields) for $3,400: The Mariner star left-handed hitter is doing alright with a .278, 18 runs, and 11 RBI. He only has one HR, but that will surely regress to the mean. He could get his season jump-started tonight facing James Shields, against whom Cano has put up splits that cannot be ignored: .405 (34 for 84) with 4 HRs and 15 RBIs.

  • SS Troy Tulowitzki (COL) at LAA (Santiago) for $4400: Like Hamels, Tulo is another player that is showcasing his talents for trade-deadline suitor and is hitting .298 in 2015, consistent with his career numbers (.299 BA). Although he has no history against Santiago, he is hitting .455 this year vs. LHP (10 for 22) and is .308 with 2 HRs in 13 career AB in Angels Stadium.

    More from FanSided

3B Trevor Plouffe (MIN) at DET (Lobstein) for $3,400: Plouffe is off to a great start hitting .261  (.795 OPS) with 5 HRs, 16 BB, and 17 RBI in 111 AB in the heart of the lineup for the resurgent Twins. As expected, the righty has been especially tough vs. LHP in his career with a .275 BA, which is 40 points higher than his mark vs. RHP. After missing the weekend for a personal matter, look for him to get back on track vs. lefty Kyle Lobstein in Comerica Park.

    Good Luck
