Welcome to the BAE index.
John Wall’s ball block
On the latest BAE Index, we’ll be taking you through the final seconds of the Atlanta Hawks’ thrilling win over the Washington Wizards. The Wizards led the Hawks by nine points with a bit more than five minutes left in the game, but the Hawks scored 14 straight points to get back in it. John Wall was impressive in his return to the series with an almost-broken hand, and that includes stuffing the living ish out of this German layup. This is when stuff got crazy.
Paul Pierce thought he called game, again
After fumbling away the ball on the previous possession (from nearly the same spot he hit the I Called Game game winner the other night), Paul Pierce came back on the next possession and nailed a 3 from the corner to give the Wizards the lead. Unfortunately for them, there was still 8.3 seconds left in the game.
Al Horford over everyone
So what did the Hawks do? Hey, Dennis Schroeder! Again!
The young point guard missed the potential game winning layup, but there was The Hawk Al Horford, flying over Nene, stealing the ball right out of his hands and laying in the game winner. Al Horford, folks. There goes that man.
