Late FanDuel Picks For May 14
My Wednesday selections were successful as Cole Hamels (18 FP) gave you the dominant start as promised and Trevor Plouffe (4.25 FP), Robinson Cano (2 FP), and Troy Tulowitzki (1.25 FP) were all productive. As for today, there are 6 games in the evening slate on FanDuel.
Here are my “Best of the Best” selections for FanDuel lineups in the late May 14 contests starting at 7:10 pm.
Pitcher
Roenis Elias (SEA) home vs. BOS for $7100: The 26 year-old left-handed Cuban has been decent this year in three starts with a 3.86 ERA and 19 Ks in 18 2/3 IP. He has earned about 10 FPPG at an average price of around $7000. He faces a Red Sox team that is hitting an abysmal .188 vs. LHP (in 272 AB) which is by far the worst in the majors. Elias takes the mound at home for the Ms (-127 favorite) at pitcher-friendly Safeco Field. This is a good spot to save on pitching and buy some big-time, reliable bats, especially in a big tournament.
Hitters
OF Colby Rasmus (HOU) home vs. TOR (Hutchinson) for $2,800: Rasmus should get the start in his platoon situation with the Astros. He has been good vs. RHP with a .254 BA, .860 OPS, 6 HR, and 12 RBI in 75 AB. Plus, he faces Hutchinson who despite the 3-0 record has a horrid 6.69 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 7 starts. Colby should be hitting in the heart of the Astros’ order today at Minute Maid Park, which is 3rd in Park Factor home runs at 1.51 a game in 2015.

Call to the Pen
1B/OF Logan Morrison (SEA) home vs. BOS (Kelly) for $3200: Morrison has been hot after a slow start, hitting .332 with a 1.417 OPS and 4 HR, 8 R, and 8 BB in his last 10 games. He has a favorable L/R matchup today against Joe Kelly (1-2, 6.35 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) against whom he is 2 for 7 with a HR.
3B Casey McGehee at CIN (Cueto) for $2,300: Casey has struggled so far and he’s been sharing time with Matt Duffy. But if Casey starts, at $2,300 this could be a perfect “Buy Low” bargain. McGehee is 6 for 20 w/ a HR lifetime vs. Cueto and has respectable numbers at Great American Ballpark: .276 BA, 3 HR, and 13 RBI in 98 career AB.
Good Luck!
