NFL: Breaking down the 2015 Miami Dolphins
By Andrew Garda
Over the next month or so we’ll be taking a look at each team in the NFL and breaking down what works, what doesn’t, where their strengths are and where they need to improve.
Today we stay in the AFC East, taking a closer look at the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins feel like a franchise stuck in neutral. There’s talent there. It seems as if this team should be far more competitive than they are. The last two years have ended in an 8-8 record, and the previous two ended with 7-9 and 6-10. The record at the end of the season has improved, but overall it doesn’t seem to be where it should be.
Today we’re going to take a look at all the main position groups and try to see where the disconnect is, or if we might be overestimating how effective this team should be. The Dolphins, like the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, are always chasing the New England Patriots, but that’s not the totality of what they are trying to accomplish. A playoff berth seems like it shouldn’t be out of the question, but they’ve often fallen short.
This offseason, the Dolphins added some offensive talent at wide receiver, added some pieces to the offensive line and continued to build their defense, including adding Ndamukong Suh to a massive contract.
Can the Dolphins finally get over the hump and challenge not just New England, but other powerhouses of the AFC? Let’s see how things sit going into the preseason for the 2015 Miami Dolphins.
