Vikings’ Adrian Peterson buys drinks for entire Texas bar
Adrian Peterson is out to improve his public image, and what better way for the Minnesota Vikings running back to do it than to buy drinks for everyone.
Adrian Peterson has some fairly deep roots in the state of Texas and makes his offseason home in the Houston area. Most recently, he’s been the center of a massive amount of trade talks involving the Dallas Cowboys, a move that would bring the big back home to be a star in the Cowboys backfield. Needless to say, there isn’t much more that Peterson would need to do in order to endear himself to the local fan base.
Well, perhaps there is one play left in the Peterson playbook.
According to TMZ Sports, the Minnesota Vikings running back made a stop at the Flying Pug Bar in Houston over the weekend and tried to endear himself to a few of the patrons, read here as all of the patrons. Peterson apparently wasn’t happy with drinking alone, so he asked the bartender to set everyone up in the place with a shot of Grey Goose vodka at his expense.
Now, TMZ doesn’t have any numbers in terms of the number of customers in the bar, but assuming that a typical shot of Grey Goose can range from $6.00 to $10.00 depending on the bar you are at, you can imagine that the patrons at this particular establishment were quite pleased with Mr. Peterson. They were probably even more pleased with Adrian Peterson when they all moved on to another bar called Exit 73 to continue the schenanigans.
Adrian Peterson was indicted by Montgomery County authorities on child abuse charges after it was learned that Peterson used a switch to punish his 4-year-old child. He was subsequently placed on NFL’s Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission list on September 17th and suspended by the NFL for the remainder of the 2014 season on November 18th.
However, since being reinstated by the NFL on February 26th, Peterson has been the subject of massive trade speculation. More often than not, that speculation has tied him to the Dallas Cowboys. Additionally, his agents have bounced around from trying to get him traded to getting the Minnesota Vikings to extend the running back.
I will say this, if he does end up heading to the Cowboys in a trade, he will arrive with some massive expectations. The least of those expectations is that he will move his local bar tour to the fine establishments in the city of Dallas, where he will have a whole new fan base to endear himself to.
