A look at the result on Saturday night from the fight between Gennady Golovkin and Willie Monroe Jr

Saturday night the boxing world was treated to yet another amazing night of fights, and this week it was all headlined by the undefeated phenom Gennady “GGG” Golovkin taking on 19-1 Willie Monroe Jr. for the 160-pound title. GGG has been rising up the boxing ranks steadily over the course of the past few years, and this was just another chance for him to prove he’s one of the best in the world.

We all got to see the greatness of GGG early in this one, landing some stiff shots on Monroe in the second round and putting him down to the canvas.

After the two knockdowns there were many that thought the fight would be coming to a close soon, but Monroe did a nice job of rebounding and even getting some shots in on the champ.

But, as is usually the case, GGG was too much and he ended up putting Monroe down in the sixth round. When Monroe hit the canvas, he decided that he was done, giving the champ his 20th consecutive KO win.

Golovkin came into this one with a 32-0 record in his career and having knocked out 19 straight opponents up to this point. By the time all was said and done in this one, he walked out 33-0 and 20 straight KO victories.

Another dominating performance for Golovkin, and now we await to see who’s next.
