With all the bad things that hit the media about NFL players these days, it’s nice to see positive things once in awhile and that’s what this message from Eagles teammates Tim Tebow and Riley Cooper is. Pennsylvania teen Collin Shank who goes to a high school in the Lampeter-Strasburg school district and is a junior, was recently diagnosed with a one-inch brain tumor. Shank was a quarterback for his team. He had surgery recently to remove the tumor and Tebow and Cooper sent him an encouraging message beforehand.

The Eagles also paid the family’s hotel bill in Philadelphia, which was where Shank had his surgery, according to Lancaster Online. Shank was reportedly to be discharged from the hospital on Friday. He had his surgery on Tuesday at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The good news is that they’re reporting the tumor was completely eradicated and Shank should be able to resume his sports activities in about three months.

He will be able to resume normal activities in a few weeks and has to start physical therapy for his left hand. Shank is both a quarterback for his high school’s football team and an outfielder for its baseball team.
