Jason Witten shared his opinion on Dez Bryant and his inability to reach a contractual agreement with the Dallas Cowboys and he doesn’t seem too worried about the return of their star receiver.

If there is one source of knowledge that holds the answer to all of the question marks surrounding Dez Bryant and his return to Dallas for this upcoming season, it probably isn’t Jason Witten. The veteran tight end most likely doesn’t have the slightest idea what is going on in the heads of Jerry Jones and Dez Bryant.

But he still isn’t worried about the star wide receiver re-signing with the Dallas Cowboys for a long term deal.

"“You’d love to have Dez there,” Witten said in an interview to ESPN.com “I think that would be great. Dez loves playing ball. He’s a great teammate. You miss him when he’s not out there because of the passion and the energy that he brings… He’ll be there. he’s taking care of himself. He’s going to be ready… Hopefully it gets worked out.”"

Witten is talking about Dez Bryant and his agent failing to reach an agreement this off season thus far. Because the two parties have yet to reach a long term deal, Bryant would play the entire season under the franchise tag. This means that Bryant hasn’t been required to go to any work outs yet and might not be able to until an agreement is reached. With the NFL draft concluding and training camp right around the corner, it only seems appropriate for the undecided free agents to start falling one by one. No one really knows where Dez will end up or why he hasn’t re-signed with the Cowboys yet. But Witten sure is confident he will be able to call him a teammate next year.

If Bryant does not re-sign with Dallas, his career as a Cowboy will be the dropped pass that defined the 2014-15 Dallas Cowboys. With just seconds remaining in the Divisional Round match up of the NFC playoffs, the Cowboys needed one score to take the lead against the Green Bay Packers. In a deep pass to Bryant, it seemed the star wide receiver came down with it, but after further review it was ruled incomplete.

Having your legacy in Dallas be defined by that play isn’t the best way to leave the organization that drafted him. But because of the business side of football, it just might be. No matter what Jason Witten seems to think.
