The New York Knicks are very ope to trading the No. 4 pick, which has the full attention of the Pistons, Magic, Kings and Hornets.

When the New York Knicks heard that they’d be selecting at No. 4 overall in the NBA Draft this year, just about every fan in the Big Apple simultaneously stroked out. It was the most Knicks-ish thing that could have happened, and it now means the Knicks will consider trading down even more so than they were before.

The question now is who will the Knicks get to trade down with and what can they get for the No. 4 pick?

According to NBA insider Chad Ford, the Pistons, Magic, Hornets and Kings are four teams who want to trade up in the draft and accelerate their rebuilding process.

It’s unclear if the Knicks would do business with any of these teams, as they don’t have a ton to offer. New York would remain in the high end of the lottery if they make a trade with any of these teams, but it’s not clear if Phil Jackson even knows what he’s doing anymore.

New York got a bad break with the No 4 pick, but that doesn’t mean they have to trade the pick. They won’t get the top guy on their board, as both Jahlil Okafor and Karl Anthony-Towns will be off the board when the Knicks go on the clock, but that still leaves one of three solid options.

Emmanuel Mudiay, D’Angelo Russell and Justice Winslow will all likely be available in the Top 5, and the Knicks could deb enticed to take one of them. Then again, the Knicks are just utterly unhappy with the world right now and trading down is the safest and most likely move.
