Now that the NBA Draft Lottery has set the order for the draft, it’s time to look ahead to the event itself — but just when exactly is the NBA Draft?

Tonight saw the Timberwolves win the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, and the anticipation for the actual event itself now begins. We’re more than a month away from the draft actually taking place, but it’s going to be an all important month for the teams in the lottery to make sure they get the right guy for the future of their franchise.

All of the teams in the lottery, even perennial contenders like the Heat and Thunder, are in the lottery for a reason — they weren’t good enough. Oklahoma City and Miami are prime examples of teams that need a youth injection, while perennial losers like the Timberwolves, 76ers and Magic need to just get things right.

It’s going to be an important month of scouting, interviewing and joking for positioning with trades, but it’s going to be a month that could make or break a team’s future.
