Roger Goodell tells media at the owners meetings that Tom Brady can still turn over information during appeal.

According to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, it’s not too late for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Speaking at the owners meeting in San Francisco on Wednesday, Goodell said he would accept any new Deflategate info from Brady. The NFL, he added, would be receptive to receiving texts and emails if Brady were willing to turn them over during the appeals process.

Brady, the Patriots star quarterback, was issued a four-game suspension by the NFL for his role in the Deflategate scandal. According to findings from the Wells Report, Brady likely had some knowledge that the Patriots’ equipment managers were purposefully deflating balls below levels the league deems appropriate. Additionally, Brady refused to turn over his personal communications to investigators.

In addition to the punishment issued to Brady, the Patriots organization was slapped with a $1 million fine and were stripped of their first round and fourth round picks in the 2016 NFL Draft. Despite the harsh nature of the penalty, Patriots owner (and Goodell BFF) Robert Kraft announced on Tuesday that the team will not appeal the Deflategate decision.

Though New England is not appealing, Brady and the NFLPA are hoping to get the quarterback’s suspension down from its current total of four games. Assuming Brady’s text and emails aren’t incriminating, which is admittedly a large assumption, it could only benefit them to turn them over to the NFL.

After all, the only person benefiting from Brady’s suspension is Jimmy Garoppolo.
