Former Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray chose to ink a five-year, $42 million deal with divisional rival Philadelphia Eagles this offseason and it shook up the way the rest of the league looked at the NFC East.
While the Cowboys won their 22nd NFC East title in 2014 with Murray leading the league in rushing, the Eagles may be the team to beat in the upcoming year, despite having somewhat of a question mark at quarterback.
Trading Nick Foles to the Rams and getting Sam Bradford, the Eagles will need some receivers to step up such as rookie Nelson Agholor, second-year player Jordan Matthews and veterans Miles Austin and Riley Cooper.
This team could surprise some people with the help of one of the league’s best running backs in the backfield — despite getting rid of LeSean McCoy who underachieved last season.
Murray is already showing off in his new Eagles gear. Take a look at just how weird it is to see the former Cowboys RB decked out in Eagles colors as well as how absolutely jacked DeMarco is.
Forget the fact that Murray looks odd in an Eagles uniform, check out those arms. Just one guy admiring another guy’s build, but he is absolutely ripped to the point that it looks flat-out scary. Murray is a physical running back and he bulked up just to show that he won’t be messing around this season and trying to record yet another career-year.
The 27-year-old running back is in his fourth year in the NFL and has already posted some unreal numbers. In his first two years combined, he played just 23 total games, recording 1,560 rushing yards and six touchdowns while catching 61 passes for 434 yards and no scores.
In his last two seasons, however, he has broken out, recording 2,966 rushing yards and 22 scores while catching 110 passes for 766 yards and a TD.
Murray has become one of the league’s top talents at running back and it will be just a matter of time until he helped the Eagles reach the next level and make the playoffs under head coach Chip Kelly for the second time in three years.
This team, with a ripped DeMarco Murray, can surprise some people and take the division from the Cowboys — something the former Dallas RB would love to do.
DeMarco showed us what happens when you hit the gym every day.
