The Tampa Bay Lightning were firing pucks at a brick wall in Game 4 as Henrik Lundqvist appeared to get his groove backing a big way for the New York Rangers.

It was a rough start to the series for Henrik Lundqvist, but his bounce back in Game 4 is a series defining narrative that can still go either way. On the one hand, Lundqvist has been able to bounce back, using Game 4 as a the Lightning were unable to shake the netminder the way they were in previous games.

After getting coughed in the first two games of the series, Henrik Lundqvist finally had a game that could get his confidence back. He allowed just a single goal all night long and helped get the Rangers back into the series with some great saves that kept the Lightning at bay.

Those are big boy saves from Lundqvist and they’re the type of saves that can get a team back in a series. That’s exactly what the Lightning need from Lundqvist and he delivered in a big way on Friday night.

The series now heads back to New York, where the Rangers were unable to get a big lead in the series. The split with Tampa Bay at Madison Square Garden and they were able to will their way into a road split in St. Petersburg. That’s huge for the Rangers as the finally had the game they needed to have to tilt this series back into their favor.

All is not lost for the Lighting though, as they rocked the boat in Game 3, and they can rattle Lundqvist better than any team in the NHL. They’ll need to channel that, and it needs to happen fast.

The Rangers vs. Lightning series will drop the puck on Game 5 this Sunday afternoon in New York.
