Charles Barkley is never afraid to speak his mind, and that’s something he did after Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, as series he believes is over.

The Cleveland Cavaliers drop kicked the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night, and it’s a blowout win that has everyone penciling Cleveland in to the NBA Finals.

There are still at least two games to go in the series, but Cleveland is coming off a road sweep of the Hawks and need to win out at home to close out the series and advance to the NBA Finals. The series is over — at least it is in the eyes of TNT analyst Charles Barkley.

After the game, Barkley reportedly went into the media room and told whoever was there last to turn out the lights on the series.

While Charles Barkley comes off as a little rough at times to some, he’s not wrong about this situation. The Cavaliers are utterly dominating the Hawks in every facet of their game, and the beatdowns are only getting worse in every single way.

The margin of victory is one thing, but the Cavaliers are watching as the wheels fall so hard off the Hawks that injuries are becoming a major factor in this series. In Game 1, the Hawks lost DeMarre Carroll and in Game 2 they lost both Kyle Korver and Al Horford.

Korver and Carroll both seem to be alright, but that’s in the context of being alright only because you have to be — not because you are.

That’s how badly the Hawks are struggling right now and it highlights their desperation in this series. Barkley may be calling this series early, but in the end he’s mostly right about where things are going.
