Proposing to your girlfriend at a baseball game.  Whether you think that’s cheesy or not, having Vin Scully narrate the special moment is epic.

When the San Diego Padres visit the Los Angeles Dodgers, chants of #BeatLA tend to rain down.  Memories of the classic brawl between former Padre Carlos Quentin and current Dodger Zack Greinke still lingering, there’s typically not much love in the air.  Maybe that’s why this random in-game wedding proposal got so much love.

87-year-old Vin Scully, in his 66th season as voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, has forever linked himself to one lucky couple in attendance at Friday night’s game.

I wonder if Scully was correct in assuming the guy asked the perspective bride, “Will you be my engagement partner?”  Must be how they asked in the olden days.  I refuse to believe we’ve become so politically correct that the word “bride” is objectionable.

Andrew Cashner was able to toss two pitches to Justin Turner in the time it took Scully to communicate a joke from one of those good old days.  A joke about a young secretary trying desperately to get her co-workers to notice the engagement ring.

Judging by how high up the newlywed seats were to the game, he spent all his money on the ring.
