The Golden State Warriors took a commanding 3-0 series lead on Saturday night with a convincing win over the Houston Rockets

Heading back to Houston on Saturday night for Game 3 and nearly stealing both Game 1 and 2 in Oracle Arena, the Rockets had a chance to get things back on track at home with their first win of the Western Conference Finals over the Golden State Warriors.

Well, not only did that not happen, but the Warriors thoroughly outplayed and outclassed the Rockets in Game 3. Now, following the 115-80 defeat, the Rockets find themselves down 3-0 and the Warriors are one game away from the trip we all assumed they’d be making anyway–the NBA Finals.

Once again it was the MVP of the NBA, Stephen Curry, that was the star in this one, dropping in 40 points on 12-of-19 shooting. From three-point range, he was even more stellar, going 7-of-9 from beyond the arc, quickly draining the hopes of everyone in attendance inside the Toyota Center in Houston. At one point in the beginning of the contest the fans chanted “MVP” with James Harden at the line, but by the end of this one, Curry left no doubt about who the real MVP is.

The Rockets struggled throughout the entire game on Saturday, and they could never get into any sort of rhythm. As a team, they finished just 33.7% in field goals and 20% from beyond the arc. Free throw shooting was atrocious as well, with Houston finishing 61.3% from the charity stripe, while Golden State was 80%.

Now the Rockets are really in trouble, and the Warriors will look to close this one out completely on Monday night, a game that tips at 9 PM ET once again.

Here’s a look at some of the highlights from this annihilation that took place on Saturday night in Houston:
