During Golden State’s 115-80 victory over the Houston Rockets, Stephen Curry broke Reggie Miller’s record for most made three-point shots in playoff history with 59.

During the 2013 playoffs, then-Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson made a bold proclamation about the team’s guard pairing of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

From Mercury News:

"“In my opinion, they’re the greatest shooting backcourt in the history of the game,” Jackson said …"

Being Mark Jackson, the basketball world laughed heartily at the hyperbole.

No longer will we mock you, Mark. Stephen Curry broke the NBA record for most three-point shots made in a postseason during the Warriors’ 115-80 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Here is all 59 of those three-pointers.

Mama, there goes that man.

At some point in the video – probably around 0:49 – all human movement starts to seem rhythmic, yet foreign. Watching the mechanics of Curry’s jumper over and over again feels like watching a grandfather clock pendulum. What even is a three point shot? Where am I?

Reggie Miller set the record in 2000 (or 9 B.C. – Before Curry), nailing 58 three point shots during the Pacers’ playoff run that would end with a six-game Finals loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. It took him 22 games. Curry broke it in only 13.

With this type of postseason performance, Stephen Curry may have established his position as the greatest three point shooter of all time. This year he already broke the record for most made threes in the regular season, with 286. The previous record-holder: Steph Curry circa 2012-13. Combine that with leading the league in three pointers for an NBA record third consecutive season, all while constantly fighting through double teams and defenses keying in on him, and there’s definitely a case to be made.

The wonderful thing with this record is the fact that he has at least has four more games (really five, given that Houston likely isn’t climbing out of a 3-0 hole) remaining in the postseason. Curry ended the game with 63; if he keeps playing at his current rate, the total will easily eclipse 80 and could reach as high as the 90s.

Why did we ever doubt you, Mark Jackson?
