UFC champion Ronda Rousey hints at a possible return to the WWE.

WWE and UFC fans a like were shocked to see Ronda Rousey step into the ring during the WrestleMania 31 this spring. Fans have been clamoring for Rousey to continue to get more involved with WWE storylines, but she hasn’t made an appearance since.

During a Wall Street Journal Q&A with Rousey, she was asked about a return to the WWE and she avoided giving a definitive answer.

“Look, the thing is, would you really want to know?” Rousey said. “Here’s the thing. With the last WrestleMania, what was the coolest part? It’s the surprise. So do you really want to know? Maybe this is all part of some plot, to put Dana out there and be like, ‘Nope, no way it’ll ever happen.’ Then make everyone forget about it so later I can just pop up like, ‘What? Dana said no.’”

Rousey elaborated, adding, “That’s the cool thing about WWE. You don’t know which factors are being put out there because they’re real and which ones are being put out there to put you guys off [to] what’s really going to happen.”

“As an avid wrestling fan, myself, I would rather not know. If you knew that Seth Rollins was going to turn on The Shield would you have wanted to know? No. It would have ruined that moment. As a fan and respecting your fandom, I can’t tell you anything.”

The WWE has been known to carry elaborate storylines and schemes involving social media and other outlets. It wouldn’t be that far of a stretch for Dana White to denounce Rousey ever getting involved with the WWE again, just for her to do it. What does he have to lose as long as she isn’t competing and partaking along the lines of what she did at WrestleMania this year?

The UFC gets extra exposure, the WWE gets a cool moment and talking point. Win-win for both sides.

As long as she is fighting professionally and in the UFC she is unlikely to compete in the WWE however. The risk of injury is too high and the UFC can’t afford to have one of their biggest fighters injured and out of commission because they were pretending to wrestle.

That hasn’t stopped rumors of a match between the teams of The Rock and Ronda Rousey against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
