Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle thinks DeMarco Murray left yards on the table last year and could’ve had an even better season.

One of the big storylines heading into the 2015 season is the running back situation for the Dallas Cowboys. They let DeMarco Murray, who led the league in rushing in 2014, leave in free agency and join the Philadelphia Eagles.

The reasoning of the decision was most likely financial, not wanting to tie up a bunch of money at a position that is viewed as expendable. The concern among fans is that there isn’t someone in line to replace him that breeds confidence.

Don’t tell Joseph Randle that. He thinks DeMarco Murray underperformed in 2014, and reportedly “left meat on the bone.

What Randle is suggesting is that the Cowboys former back could’ve had even more yards rushing on the season. Randle clearly sees himself as the man to pick that bone clean, but the Cowboys seem to be headed towards a running back by committee approach with names like Darren McFadden joining the team.

The Cowboys certainly have one of the most talented offensive lines in the league, so there are yards to be had. Others would argue that Murray made the Cowboys offensive line look better than it was.

Looks like we’ll find out in 2015, but hard to imagine that someone who nearly rushed for 2,000 yards and was so dominant on the ground could have possibly left yards on the ground.
