Odell Beckham is on the cover of Madden after just one year in the NFL and he isn’t worried about any curse.

It’s hard to believe that a guy who was just a rookie last year has already been chosen to grace the cover of Madden 2016. The highly-rated video game is one of the most purchased of any sports simulator on the market and Odell Beckham Jr. earned the right to be on the front of it.

The New York Giants‘ wide out was one of the most exciting players in the NFL in 2014, coming out of nowhere as a rookie who missed the first four games of the year. Beckham basically took the league by storm, catching 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Yes, those are video game-like numbers, making it only fitting that he’s on the cover of Madden. Heck, he put up numbers in two-thirds of a regular season that some receivers can’t even put up in a year’s time.

If there is one guy in this league who needs to be watched at all times at the wide receiver position, besides Calvin Johnson or Dez Bryant, it’s definitely Beckham Jr.

Especially if he can make catches like this one at any instant:

This kid is an absolute beast and it’s scary to think he still has his entire career ahead of him. Making the cover of Madden after just one season in the league has never been done before, but the honor comes with a bit of a dark side. The vaunted ‘Madden curse’ has been well-documented over the years with guys like Michael Vick, Shaun Alexander, Ray Lewis and Donovan McNabb.

The curse has affected some big-time superstars, but guys like Calvin Johnson and now Beckham Jr. don’t believe in the jinx.

According to ESPN‘s Dan Graziano, Beckham thinks the jinx won’t affect him one bit:

"“I don’t know what a jinx is. It’s definitely a blessing to be on the cover. It was a surprise to be in the running after just a year, but it’s definitely exciting.”"

Beckham has a tremendous amount of confidence to say something like that, especially when fellow wide receiving superstar Megatron thought the same thing a couple years ago, only to play an entire season with broken fingers that he kept mum.

However, Johnson did break the single season receiving record previously held by Jerry Rice.

Confidence like that will turn Beckham into a NFL superstar.
