Stephen A. Smith rips Dan Gilbert, doesn’t think he deserves credit (Video)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are on to the NBA Finals, but Stephen A. Smith isn’t ready to give Dan Gilbert any credit for the success.
When the Cleveland Cavaliers lost LeBron James back in 2010, owner Dan Gilbert threw a hissy fit to end all hissy fits. He verbally burped and spit up all over himself and continued to throw a fit as LeBron James exited Cleveland and the years of disappointment to head to Miami and a future filled with winning.
We all remember the scathing letter that Gilbert wrote in his diary — possibly in pink gel pen — and it was something we assumed would keep LeBron James away from Cleveland forever. That didn’t happen, as not only is he back but the Cavaliers have returned to the NBA Finals.
The villain role has been transferred from LeBron James to Dan Gilbert.
On Wednesday’s edition of First Take, Stephen A. Smith opened his mouth and said things again — this time about how Dan Gilbert doesn’t deserve credit for the Cavaliers success.
First off, what’s a Stephen A. Smith report without mentioning someone’s “camp”? Secondly, he’s not entirely wrong, as it’s very hard to root for Dan Gilbert given everything he’s done as owner of the Cavaliers.
He’s a slightly more tolerable presence than Darren Rovell is to most people, and that’s not saying much. Dan Gilbert will always be the guy who wrote that lame letter about LeBron James and that’s always going to make it impossible to root for him.
