The Chicago Bulls announced on Thursday that they’ve parted ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau

In a move that a lot of people saw coming, although maybe not this soon, the Chicago Bulls have announced that they’ve fired head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Overall Thibodeau had a somewhat successful career as a head coach with the Bulls, a team that he joined in 2010. However, his inability to not get this talented group to the next level was a key part in the team deciding to make this move.

In the five years that he was at the helm, Thibodeau compiled a record of 255-139 in the regular season, as well as a playoff record of 23-28. That playoff record, again, was more than a deciding factor in the move being made.

This past season the Bulls finished with a record of 50-32, and even won their opening playoff series over the Milwaukee Bucks. However, they were ousted in the very next round by the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, making this move today inevitable.

Despite the Bulls not wanting him at the head of the table in Chicago any longer, Thibodeau will be one of the more sought after coaches on the market. With teams such as the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans still searching for a capable head coach to lead their organizations, Thibodeau will certainly land on his feet and he’ll do so in a timely manner. Unemployment for this man will not last all that long.
