The Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly interested in working out former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden.

It’s hard to be a former No. 1 overall pick in any sport, and it’s especially hard to be one who has already busted. That’s the life of Greg Oden, but at the end of the day, he’s still a guy that teams have interest in and he’s a guy who has NBA Finals experience.

Anyone looking to sign Oden isn’t going to do it for his very limited NBA Finals experience, rather it’s to see if he has anything left in the tank.

According Shams Charania from Real GM, the Grizzlies are reportedly interested in former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden.

"The Memphis Grizzlies have explored center Greg Oden, expressing interest in the recent past with a workout in the spring, and will potentially bring in the former No. 1 overall NBA pick to a free-agent camp in June, league sources told RealGM."

There’s one massive problem with all of this and it has nothing to do with Oden having knees of glass. He had a domestic violence arrest last summer and that’s something that persuaded the Miami Heat to not bring him back for another season.

Beyond the moral obstacles that come with being interested in Oden, there’s the more obvious problems with his knees. Oden couldn’t hack it with the Portland Trail Blazers and he was barely a factor with the Miami Heat last season.

Still, there could be a role for Oden coming off the bench, as coaches get smarter and systems get more forgiving of older and more fragile players.
