Power forward Kevin Love plans on playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers next season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are on to the NBA Finals and without one of their big three stars Kevin Love. Love was injured during the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics and has been out rehabbing his shoulder ever since.

Some fans wondered if it were the last time Love would suit up for the Cavaliers. According to Love he plans on being back with the Cavaliers next season.

From ESPN:

"“I truly haven’t even thought about it, but as I mentioned, I expect to be suiting up by Game 1 of next year,” Love said Sunday after taking a break from his rehab to update his status.A reporter followed up by asking Love if he meant he would be suiting up for the Cavs, and the All-Star forward quickly replied, “Yes, sir.”"

Love is headed towards free agency and will draw a lot of attention on the open market, presumably from teams like the Los Angeles Lakers.

Love never seemed to mesh quite well with Cavaliers since being traded to join forces with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. James and Love’s relationship, or lack thereof, was the constant subject of rumors and news stories, wondering if there was a rift between the two.

Some have also felt that Love wouldn’t be content to return to the Cavaliers and be the third man on the totem pole behind James and Irving, going from star and center of the team in Minnesota to basically a role player on a star-loaded team.

Love could just be saying the right things though to make things easier on himself before free agency starts. Love could also be saying the right thing to wait and see how this season plays out. If the Cavaliers win the NBA Championship, maybe he would be content to pursue other opportunities with a ring in tow. Maybe that would make him inclined to stay and pursue more.

Who knows what Love is thinking or planning, but once offers start rolling in things could change his mind.
