Daily Fantasy Baseball: DraftKings Pitcher and Hitter Picks for June 2nd
There is a full set of MLB games in the evening slate on DraftKings stating at 7: 05 p.m. and also five games in the LATE only contests starting at 9:40 p.m.
Here are my best selections for DraftKings fantasy baseball lineups in the June 2nd contests with picks in both early and late games to help you with your lineups.
These selections are tailored toward DraftKings scoring system but these picks can also be helpful in H2H formats with daily rosters where some of my recommended players may be available to pick up off the Waiver Wire.
Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for FanDuel, but you should first understand the differences of the two site’s baseball scoring systems before plugging players in both.

The rookie phenom is having a great year (19.2 FPPG) winning 2 games with a 2.55 ERA, 1.10 WHIP with 22 Ks in 24 2/3 in 4 starts. Nicknamed “Thor”, he was in complete control against the Phillies last time out, allowing no runs and striking out 6 in 7 1/3 IP and earning 28.9 FP.
He and the Mets (-120 road favorite) face the Padres at pitcher-paradise Petco Park on Tuesday night. This is a great matchup and a great price for Syndergaard. Enjoy him while he’s still in the low 8000s – this won’t last long.
Clay Buchholz (BOS) home vs. MIN for $7,200:
Buchholz (2-6, 4.33 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) has recovered from a disastrous start to the season and has strung together 4 straight quality starts while scoring 20 FPPG. Boston is a huge -180 favorite at home against the Twins, whom Buchholz limited to two runs in 7 1/3 IP last time out. Minnesota is hitting only .251 vs. RHP, which is 26th in the majors. Look for Clay to continue his resurgence and get you 20+ FP.
Alfredo Simon (DET) home vs. OAK for $6,100:
Simon was having a fine year with a 5-2 record and a 2.67 ERA and 1.20 WHIP before recently going on the bereavement list. He had been extremely effective in his last 3 games, all quality starts in which he averaged 20.3 FP at an average salary of $5,400. He faces the As at home for the Tigers, who are a -150 favorite. This is a bargain price and you can safely expect 15-25 FP here.
Next: The Hitters
Seattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino (3) – Credit: Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
Hitters
C Mike Zunino (SEA) home vs. NYY (Sabathia) for $3,300:
Zunino (7 HR, 15 RBI) has a great R/L matchup with Sabathia (5.67 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 10 HR allowed in 2015) against whom he is a perfect 3 for 3 against. At this great price, you could cash in big time if Zunino goes yard.
1B Freddie Freeman (ATL) at ARZ (Collmenter) for $4,800:

Call to the Pen
Freeman has been on fire going 6 for 15 with 3 HRs and 7 RBI in his last 3 games. The Braves’ big slugger has a great L/R matchup tonight in a hitter’s park facing Josh Collmenter, who he has 8 hits and a home run in 15 AB against.
2B Jason Kipnis (CLE) at KC (Guthrie) for $5,100:
Kipnis (.340, 5 HR, 25 RBIs) has put up great numbers (9.8 FPPG) in 2015 and he has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 going 18 for 45 in that stretch. He is hitting a cool .500 (11 for 22 with 2 HR) against Guthrie (6.70 ERA, 1.67 WHIP) who is coming off an awful performance where he gave up 11 ER in a single inning.
2B Dustin Pedroia (BOS) home vs. MIN (Hughes) for $4,300:
Pedroia (.289, 7 HR, 21 RBI, 7.8 FPPG) is having a good year at the plate and is 15 for 42 with 2 HR in his last 10 games. Peralta is a career .342 hitter (13 for 38) with 5 HR and 14 RBI lifetime vs. Phil Hughes.
