LeBron James more popular than Steph Curry, according to Facebook
According to Facebook, LeBron James is more popular than Golden State Warriors point guard and current NBA MVP, Steph Curry.
As one of the best players to ever grace the NBA, LeBron James garners a ton of respect from teammates, coaches and also fans. The 12-year veteran has built a fan base while also creating a bit of resentment from fans who seemingly always want to see him fail.
While there are a ton of “haters” when it comes to James, there are also a mass quantity of fans of the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player.
LeBron’s Cleveland Cavaliers are set to face off against the Golden State Warriors, and current MVP Steph Curry, in the NBA Finals on Thursday evening in the Bay Area. The 30-year-old superstar might not be the most popular player in the western U.S. for the coming weeks, but overall, he’s been voted as much more popular than Steph Curry in the country, according to Facebook users.
The map isn’t very surprising as the entire East Coast, Southeast and Midwest are considered big LeBron fans up until the Mountain Standard Time zone area. It’s almost expected that the entire West Coast would be Curry fans as he’s the most popular player to play in California along with Kobe Bryant.
Much of California is predominantly Curry fans while the entire eastern half of the United States is strictly LeBron. Curry’s fans aren’t very prevalent in the West, however, as his groups of supporters seem to be scattered throughout the nation from Midwest toward the Pacific Ocean.
The Finals will likely be one of the best in recent memory despite the absence of Kevin Love. James and Curry will go head to head to see who can lead their team the farthest and to prove who the real MVP actually is.
Although the Cavaliers may be underdogs, they will not go into the series feeling that way as they are the hottest team in the playoffs recently.
In my opinion, Curry has a more likable personality while James may be misunderstood by West Coast fans because his lack of loyalty to his current teams when a contract year comes up. If it weren’t for “The Decision” and his coming back home, the entire country would be painted Cavalier colors on the map.
Curry has the real bragging rights currently, however, as the reigning MVP.
