Croatia. Mario Hezonja. 6. player. 67.
Now that the Kings has gotten the idea of trading DeMarcus Cousins out of their system, it’s time to think about how they can build around him in the future. We all know how dominant Cousins can be under the rim., so it will be about selecting someone who can score and provide offense on the perimeter.

The other first-round foreign prospect, Mario Hezonja could be just the medicine they need. He can shoot the lights out of the ball and has an extremely high offensive upside. Being 6-foot-8 creates mismatches if he is placed at the shooting guard position. If he can develop a quick first step his offensive game would see a ton of improvement in his first few years in the NBA.

Additionally, he has an extremely high defensive potential in the NBA. Being so tall, he has the ability to guard players like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. The only problem is he needs to gain some speed and put on a few pounds. As far as I’m concerned, being 200 pounds is only okay in the NBA if you are under 6-foot-3 and a point guard or are coaching your team up from the bench. Still, Hezonja will be a solid pick up by the Kings moving forward.
. SG/SF
