Kyrie Irving’s season is over. With him out the Cavs’ shot of besting the Warriors in the NBA Finals just grew longer. However disappointed fans and the team are by this development, no one is more saddened than Irving himself. The star point guard took to Instagram to express his frustration on Friday.
Irving’s season ended in overtime of Game 1 when he collided with Klay Thompson. He had to be helped off the floor and was visibly limping on his way to the locker room. The bad diagnosis came out on Friday that he had a fractured kneecap and must undergo surgery. Irving’s season is over (his recovery timetable is three to four months) and the Cavs can only hope that theirs doesn’t follow suit.
