A fan blew a kiss to Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer, who caught it and threw it away onto the field.
The Seattle Mariners have some unusual fans who admittedly take a unique approach to heckling fans. The Tampa Bay Rays are the team in town, and a fan blew a kiss to Rays pitcher Chris Archer.
Archer could’ve ignored it, like a professional who is used to heckling and insults being hurled his direction on a regular basis. Instead he decided to respond in rather epic fashion.
Archer reached out and caught the kiss playing along. He then decided to catch it and throw it onto the field, essentially throwing it away.
Watch it below:
This is eerily reminiscent of the handling of home run balls on a regular basis. Fans in the bleachers catch home run balls hit by the opposing teams and throw them back on a regular basis, you’ve at least seen this in the movie Rookie of the Year.
Rarely do you see players catching things from fans and throwing them onto the field, especially not a kiss like this.
Still, it is pretty hilarious and the perfect way to react in this situation.
