The NBA Draft is right around the corner, and the New York Knicks seem to be zeroing in on Duke superstar Justise Winslow.
We have just a few weeks to go until the NBA Draft is upon us and the next generation of stars are welcomed into the league. Not everyone is going to develop into a LeBron James type of talent, but as teams get smarter and college prospects get better, the quality of NBA Draft classes is gradually improving.
That’s good news for the New York Knicks, as their margin for error in this year’s draft is extremely small — assuming it’s existent at all. Phil Jackson needs to hit a home run with this draft class and that starts with the No. 4 overall pick and what to do with it.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks are inching closer to locking in Duke star Justise Winslow as the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA Draft this month.
Duke's Justise Winslow will work out for the Knicks on Monday, league sources tell Yahoo. New York is examining him closely at No. 4.

Of course, a lot can happen between now and then, but the fact that the Knicks are looking at a player to lock in on at No. 4 overall seems to suggest that they won’t be moving the pick as has been the rumor. Instead, adding a big man like Winslow is a great way to compliment the frontcourt and get Carmelo Anthony someone to play with.
Not a good player, just a player who is competent and not a bafoon on the floor.
New York needs some serious fixing, and while trading the No. 4 pick and amassing assets isn’t a terrible plan, taking a young superstar for the future beyond Carmelo Anthony is even more crucial.
