Axalta 400: Complete finishing order
Martin Truex Jr. picked up his first win of the season as he won the Axalta 400 at Pocono Raceway.
Martin Truex Jr. has finally done it. After weeks of heartbreaking finishes, Truex Jr. finally sealed the deal and held off Kevin Harvick to pick up his first win of the season.
For four consecutive weeks, Truex Jr. has led the most laps of any driver on the track. For three of those weeks, he went home empty handed. This week, he wouldn’t take no for an answer and now will have a chance to compete for the Sprint Cup Championship.
He was likely to get a shot anyways, based off points anyways, but a win seals his fate. Once again, it was Kevin Harvick, who had his 10th top-2 finish of the season, who was right behind Truex Jr., battling him until the very end. All week Harvick was the fastest on the track, but he could not overcome poor restarts to have a chance at winning.
Jimmie Johnson, the other driver who has been dominating with Harvick and Truex Jr., had cut his tire earlier in the race, but he bounced back to give both drivers on the end but ultimately fell back in third.
With the Axalta 400 completed, here is the complete finishing order for Sunday’s race.
