Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert roasts Warriors players before Game 3 win
Prior to Tuesday’s Game 3 win over the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert took to Twitter to throw some shade as two Warriors defenders.
Trash talking in sports has become an institution over the years. From bat flips to signaling for first down to jawing with players’ parents on the sidelines, talking smack is as much an art-form as it is a nuisance. And with the advent and popularization of social media, it has expanded beyond the court or field and right into the public eye.

You just don’t tend to see much of it coming from the owner’s box.
Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has never been one to shy away from the spotlight, and chose to jump right into the NBA Finals by taking some time to carve out a solid troll job aimed at Golden State Warriors players Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green. In particular, Gilbert wanted to discuss some defensive tactics employed by Iguodala in particular.
Hey, a 20% markdown on an NBA jersey is nothing to blink at. An adult replica James jersey (2nd alternative if we want to be specific), retails for $69.00 on the Cavs Team Shop. A 20% discount knocks that down $13.80 to a more affordable $55.20.
Of course, perhaps Iguodala wanted a something a little more personal, and we all know that game-used memorabilia is about as personal as it gets. The Cavs auctioned off a game-used jersey from James earlier this season, fetching over $50,000 for the uniform he wore for his return game to Cleveland.
The trash talking must have had some sort of effect on the duo, as James went off again in Game 3. James dropped 40 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and came up two assists shy of a triple-double as the Cavs took game three from the Warriors to lead the series 2-1.
