The Cleveland Cavaliers are two wins away from being crowned champions of the NBA, and the parents of Golden State Warriors players are not very happy.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers lost Kyrie Irving for the rest of the postseason, it looked like the final nail in the coffin had been hammered in. But Matthew Dellavedova has more than stepped up as a leader on the team and dutifully filled Irving’s shoes.

That has meant a lot of praise in Cleveland but a lot of vitriol spewed his way from other places.

Matthew Dellavedova may have won over Cavaliers fans, and some media members, but he’s not going to be getting a gift basket from Mychal Thompson — the father of Klay Thompson. Ahead of Game 4 on Thursday night, Thompson threw some serious shade at Delly, basically eviscerating him for being a low level guy who is getting lucky.

Thompson isn’t the only Warriors parent upset with the actions of Matthew Dellavedova. Draymond Green’s mother, Mary Barbers-Green, is equally unimpressed by the Australian sensation.

This is basically what it’s like when parents of youth players complain about the other team, except it’s on a much more advanced level. They have a gripe with Delly too that isn’t unjust. He’s been labeled a dirty player for happening to find himself in compromising situations all throughout the postseason.

From the Taj Gibson ejection to the Kyle Korver injury and the Al Horford ejection, Delly has been in the wrong place at the wrong time far too many times for it to be pure coincidence.

Going low at the knees of Draymond Green was step too far and something that hit too close to home for Green’s mother. Of course, there’s not going to be a whole lot of cheering for the Cavaliers coming from the Warriors peanut gallery anyways, so none of this shade being thrown at Dellavedova is all that surprising.

It’s still fascinating though.
