NBC’s Chicago affiliates confused the Arizona Cardinals and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The St. Louis Cardinals have stolen the spotlight in the sports world today with a bizarre story that alleges that the team hacked the Houston Astros for information. Having seen the Astros struggle over the past several years, you have to wonder why a team that has won World Series would be spying on bottom feeding teams in Major League Baseball.

But hey, why not I guess.

Obviously this is a huge sports story and will get national coverage in the media. The Chicago market, which is host to the Cardinals’ rivals, the Cubs, covered it.

The only problem is that NBC doesn’t seem to know which Cardinals team was accused of hacking.

That is the logo of the Arizona Cardinals, as in the NFL team. If the Arizona Cardinals were hacking the Astros for information on prospects, that’d really be a bizarre story. You’d think a city that is a baseball rival of the Cardinals wouldn’t make this error.

Either way, some poor intern at NBC is getting an earful tonight and probably ripped apart on a subreddit somewhere.
