The Pittsburgh Pirates are currently on a 5-game winning streak, and they went on an offensive tear against the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

The Pirates offense absolutely exploded as they scored 5 runs in the first inning. The more impressive thing about the Pirates win on Monday, they scored 11 runs on 17 hits, and they did not hit a single home run. The Pirates offense is finally clicking again, which makes them a fantasy powerhouse.

The Pirates have one of the best outfields in the Major Leagues, which makes all three of them a valuable fantasy option. But there is one person in particular who is absolutely shredding opposing pitchers, and that man is Starling Marte.

Coming into 2015, Marte was regarded as a top 60 fantasy baseball player, but he has had his ups and downs so far this season.

Marte has been on a tear this 5-game win streak, and he has gone 14-for-25 (.560) during that streak with five RBI and two doubles. He also has made some amazing defensive plays, even though that doesn’t count as fantasy points. It does, however, increase confidence at the plate, which does count for fantasy points.

So should you buy Marte now, should you wait until later in the season to get him, or should you pass altogether?

My advice, buy Marte now. You should not wait to buy Marte because he is getting hot now, so his fantasy value is only going to increase, which will cause you to give up more for him. Marte is apart of an offense that is clicking on all cylinders, so this will provide him a multitude of opportunities to drive in runs and swipe bags.

Marte is going to explode the rest of this season, so I would make sure that you have him on your team because he can be a vital piece that can help lead your team to the playoffs.
