The Staten Island Yankees will hold a ‘Game of Thrones’ Night in August.

New York Yankees Minor League affiliate, the Staten Island Yankees, are fonder of Game of Thrones than most fans of the show are after Sunday night’s season five finale. Obviously not realizing the shock and horror of the show’s audience at what happened, the Staten Island Yankees announced that they would be having a Game of Thrones Night in early August:

Those jerseys are absolutely hideous. It doesn’t matter what they are trying to portray and so on; they look atrocious and they had an entire fictional world of things that look awesome to draw from.

In fairness, getting their opponents, the Hudson Valley Renegades, to participate in the festivities creates a cool visual of pitting the “Direwolves” against the “Lannisters.” You can also have the chance to meet the author of the books series that the show is based on, George R.R. Martin. That doesn’t make up for the hideous jerseys, but it helps.

Jerseys aside, there is a bench-clearing brawl during this game, it will be the most epic fight in baseball history. Let’s just hope a brawl would end differently than it would in the show or books: with your favorite player getting run through with Valyrian Steel.
