The 2015 NBA Draft is quickly approaching us here, meaning that it’s time to get out some of the last-minute projections. On Saturday, ESPN analyst Chad Ford released his latest top-10 projections and it looks a little something like this:
With the draft less than a week away now, the consensus does seem to be that Minnesota Timberwolves taking Karl-Anthony Towns with that No. 1 overall pick, which might be the best move they can make. Pairing up someone like Towns who can do the work down low that he does with the likes of Andrew Wiggins and Ricky Rubio, the team could see a quick turnaround in their fortunes.
Of course, with Towns being the pick at one, Ford sees the Los Angeles Lakers taking Duke center Jahlil Okafor, giving Kobe Bryant some help in the paint as he looks to make one last run at an NBA title.
For the most part, though, everyone believes that these two will be the top two picks in whichever order. But after they’re off the board, that’s where things get interesting with the Philadelphia 76ers on the clock. As you can see above, Ford has the Sixers taking international sensation Kristaps Porzingis. Following that, Ohio State point guard D’Angelo Russell is the newest member of the New York Knicks and Mario Hezonja will be joining the party for the Orlando Magic to round out the top-five picks.
Still, though, the possibility is that anything can happen when it comes time for the draft to take place later this week, and we’ll soon know definitively where some of the best basketball prospects in the world will be headed.
