During the free agency period this summer, the Miami Heat have some issues they need to attend to. In particular, they need to pay both Goran Dragic and the face of the franchise, Dwyane Wade, the latter of which has made it clear that he would have no problem going elsewhere.

Well, the Heat might have a plan in place to help make this happen, and it includes saying goodbye to Chris “Birdman” Andersen and Mario Chalmers.

According to a report from ESPN, the team has been shopping both Chalmers and Andersen in an attempt to get some money free to make the necessary moves mentioned above. With the two being owed a total of $9 million this upcoming season, they could possibly accomplish the tasks of re-signing Dragic and Wade, keeping their chances in the Eastern Conference alive and well. Andersen and Chalmers have proven they can be good role players in the past, so the Heat shouldn’t have too much trouble finding suitors for both.

Both may be getting up there in age, yes, but a contending team would probably be more than willing to put them on their bench to try and get over the hump.

The Miami Heat have a lot of work to do in the future, especially in 2016 with having to pay Hassan Whiteside who has proven to be a nice commodity for the team as well, but this is certainly a start in the process.
