NBA Free Agency: 8 moves Knicks must make to put out the dumpster fire
By Josh Hill
David West
When David West opted to not return to the Indiana Pacers, it was said that the reason was because he wanted to come to New York and play for the Knicks.
It’s yet to be determined how true that is, but West seems like a great fit for the Knicks.
West was a great addition to the Pacers when he joined a few years ago, and while he didn’t help them win any titles he was instrumental in a lot of the success that they had during his tenure. That’s something that Phil Jackson is trying to see if it fits in with what he’s trying to run in New York.
If the Knicks land West, he can not only be big for their success but also for the development of Carmelo Anthony’s game. Melo is a superstar who forged his own path and has never really played with another veteran star or superstar player. West can be that guy who Melo runs alongside, learns from and shares in some success with.
