OK, let’s start all of this off by stating the obvious here that Paul Pierce is by no means a young man anymore. But even most people in their late ’30s know how to use an emoji on their cellular device, although Pierce obviously does not.

News broke on Wednesday that the Los Angeles Clippers might have a shot after all of bringing free agent DeAndre Jordan back into the fold, and Jordan might even have some interest in coming back. As we speak here, the Clippers, Chris Paul included, are on their way to Houston to see if they can lure the big man away from the Dallas Mavericks.

Well, after this news broke, it sparked a bit of a Twitter emoji war between members of the Clippers and Mavericks as they each get ready to make their respective pitches to Jordan. So not to feel left out, Pierce decided that he’d jump in on all the fun the youngsters were having.

It…it didn’t work out all that well.

We get the point, Paul, but…um…that’s not an emoji, sir. No, not even close.

Hey, you have to give him props for at least giving it a whirl.
