Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy had his suspension for 2015 reduced from 10 to 4 games on Friday

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy finally got word on his appeal for his 10-game suspension that he was facing in the 2015 season. There’s some good news and there’s some bad news.

The bad news is that the suspension was indeed upheld. However, the good news is that while the suspension will still be in place, the number of games was reduced from 10 to just four.

Chances of the suspension being dropped altogether were pretty much non-existent, so this was the best possible outcome for everyone involved. Having signed Hardy this off-season amid a ton of criticism, the Cowboys now only lose Hardy for 1/4 of the season and Hardy won’t be idle for too long.

However, now the attention turns to another issue and that’s whether or not Hardy will take this ruling to court. Recently it was revealed that Hardy wanted the suspension reduced to two games, and as we can see from the ruling that came down on Friday, that didn’t happen. So now, the embattled defensive end has quite the decision on his hands.

Where this all goes from here will be interesting in itself, but if Hardy is smart given all that has happened over the past year, he will take the four games and rejoin the Cowboys as they’re getting ready for the heart of their season.
