Let’s get right to today’s top ten batter vs pitcher matchups to attack starting with a pair of Sox.
10. Alejandro De Aza-OF-Boston Red Sox: De Aza doesn’t have a long history against Yankees’ starter Ivan Nova, but he has gone an impressive 5-7 (.714) against him including a home run. De Aza is a solid cheap outfield play as long as he gets the start tonight in the rotation outfield of the Red Sox.
9. David Ortiz-DH-Boston Red Sox: Another Boston batter with a good history against Nova is David Ortiz. Big Papi is 6-19 (.316) against Nova in his career with a double, home run, and four RBI.
8. Alcides Escobar-SS-Kansas City Royals: In the earliest game of the day starting at 2:10 PM ET, the Royals host the Blue Jays after both teams had to sit through a lengthy raid delay last night. Toronto will start veteran lefty Mark Buehrle today which should set up well for Escobar who is 8-20 (.400) in his career against Buehrle with a pair of doubles.
