I don’t know who Jonathon Simmons is. Like most of the Spurs’ summer league roster, he’s a little-known player trying to play his way onto a training camp roster somewhere. Google tells me he played last season for the Austin Toros in the D-League. This concludes the Jonathon Simmons bio section.

The Knicks’ summer league team is rife with recognizable names, one of which is Thanasis Antetokounmpo. Thanasis makes his hay on defense, and it’s hard to ever fault a guy for trying his hardest to stop an impending easy bucket for the opponent. All he wants to do is impress folks like Derek Fisher and Phil Jackson enough to possibly sneak his way onto the big club next season.

Simmons and Antetokounmpo crossed paths during Saturday afternoon’s Spurs-Knicks tilt in Vegas. Unfortunately, only one of them came out alive.

WOO BAH GAWD. This kinda came out of nowhere. It didn’t even look like Simmons was running that fast. The three Knicks around the basket on the play just kinda stood there after it was over with, looking all stunned and Knicksy. Thanasis Antetokounmpo and I now know who Jonathon Simmons is.
