Top 100 PPR Wide Receivers

More from Fantasy

Here are my top 100 PPR wide receivers for this season. These rankings should be used as a guide for your fantasy drafts. Feel free to select a receiver that you are higher on. This year I’m trying to minimize the risk that I’m taking on in drafts and I believe that reflects in my rankings by giving the safer more dependent players the nod over unproven risky players. During the latter portion of the rankings I take more shots on younger unproven highly athletic receivers in hopes that I can cash in on their upside. These rankings aren’t made in stone. I’m constantly evaluating players and my feeling towards certain players can move up and down like the stock market the more I do my research. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @bmatz08 for 24/7 fantasy advice.

Jan 3, 2015; Pittsburgh, PA, USA; Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown Pittsburgh Steelers: I have as my top receiver this year. I have Brown ranked there because he delivers top-5 wide receiver upside, and he has the highest floor compared to the other stud wide receivers. Brown finished last season as the #1 wide receiver in PPR leagues and he finished the 2013 season as the #2 wide receiver in PPR leagues.

Odell Beckham Jr. New York Giants: The odds are against Beckham to score as high as he did last year, but even if he regresses a little bit he will still be a top receiver in fantasy. Beckham displayed that he has the potential to be a top wide receiver in this league last season, and he’s going to get plenty of targets from Eli Manning to be a top producer in fantasy.

Jordy Nelson Green Bay Packers: I have Nelson ranked at 12 currently due to his hip surgery he had earlier this offseason. If he is back at training camp practicing, and he’s playing in preseason games, then I’m going to bump him up a couple of spots in my rankings.

Brandin Cooks New Orleans Saints: During 10 games last season Cooks caught 53 receptions for 550 yards and 3 TD’s. Jimmy Graham is gone, so Cooks is going to get even more targets. Cooks should be more efficient, because this will be his 2nd year in the league and he should develop his skill set from last year. Cooks is going to get a lot of receptions, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he caught 90-100 receptions this season.

Amari Cooper Oakland Raiders: Cooper is a high-end wide receiver prospect, and he’s going to start his career as the #1 wide receiver in Oakland. He’s paired with a talented young quarterback in Derek Carr. Cooper should be peppered with targets this season, and he should finished in the WR2-WR1 range.

Eric Decker New York Jets: I’m higher on Decker compared to most fantasy analyst. He is a very reliable receiver in fantasy. Decker consistently delivers WR2 numbers and rarely has weeks where he is a complete bust. He only had 4 games last season where he was a dud scoring less than 10 fantasy points. He had 10 games where he scored 10.50-21.30 fantasy points. Reliable is Decker’s middle name.

  • Charles Johnson Minnesota Vikings: Johnson is the #1 receiver for the Vikings, and he has an outstanding athletic profile. He has a connection with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, and Bridgewater targets Johnson a lot. From week 10 going forward Johnson averaged 6.71 targets per game. I project Johnson to be a WR3 with WR2 upside.

Pierre Garcon Washington Redskins: Garcon had a down season last year, and I expect him to increase his production this year. Garcon had some weeks last year where he produced WR2 numbers and he had some weeks where he wasn’t fantasy relevant. I look for Garcon to be a little more reliable this season.

Victor Cruz New York Giants: I’m a little higher on Cruz compared to a lot of fantasy analysts. I don’t think he’s completely done because of the injury, and I think there’s a chance he could come back this season and be productive.

Davante Adams Green Bay Packers: Adams is a good receiver to have stashed at the end of your bench. He’s the 3rd wide receiver on the Packers roster, and he’s going to have weeks where he’s going to be a decent flex play.

Andrew Hawkins Cleveland Browns: I’m higher on Hawkins compared to a lot of fantasy analysts. Hawkins holds zero value in Non-PPR leagues but he’s valuable in PPR leagues, because he gets targeted a lot underneath. Last season Hawkins was targeted 112 times, and he caught 63 receptions. Hawkins isn’t going to break out and be a top wide receiver, but the hefty amount of targets that he will receive gives him some fantasy value.

Steve Johnson San Diego Chargers: Philip Rivers is the best quarterback Johnson has ever had. Johnson had some decent seasons a few years ago with Buffalo and there’s a good chance that he can rejuvenate his career with San Diego.

Torrey Smith San Francisco 49ers:  I’m low on Smith. The volume isn’t going to be there for him to be a consistent reliable fantasy starter. He’s going to be running all the deep routes which are targets that have a lower % of being caught. Anquan Bolden is going to be the receiver to own in the 49er offense.

Eddie Royal Chicago Bears: Royal is a sleeper this year. The Bears are going to be in a lot of shoot outs this season, which means they will be in a lot of 3 wide receiver sets. Royal is very efficient he caught 68.13% of his targets last year, and he’s going to get a lot of good looks playing in the slot with Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White taking a lot of the heat off of him.

    Allen Hurns

Justin Hunter Tennessee Titans: Hunter has to do something on the field for me to believe in him again. His situation is very sketchy. He is paired with a rookie quarterback (Marcus Mariota), and he has more receivers to compete with for targets compared to last year. The drafting of Dorial Green-Beckham is a sign that the Titans might be moving away from him

Aaron Dobson New England Patriots: Add him to your watch list and underline his name. Take a flier on him late in your draft if you have the roster space. Dobson didn’t get much playing time last season due to injuries. Dobson was a WR2 during his rookie season in 2013. He’s a bigger receiver, 6’3 210 lbs., and he can stretch the field, which is an element the Patriots don’t have. If Dobson can remain healthy and continues to develop he could be a steal in fantasy this season.

Leonard Hankerson Atlanta Falcons: Hankerson is a deep threat that the Falcons can utilize on the opposite side of Julio Jones. If Roddy White goes down with an injury Hankerson will be a hot waiver wire pick up.

Dontrelle Inman San Diego Chargers: Inman is a talented wide receiver prospect that could be a hot waiver wire pick up if there was an injury to either Keenan Allen or Stevie Johnson.

Jeff Janis Green Bay Packers: I’m surprised he’s not higher on the list. I love him in dynasty leagues. I have him rostered in almost every league. There’s a chance that he can beat out Devante Adams for the #3 wide receiver position on the team. If there was an injury to Nelson or Cobb, Janis’ stock would rise to a decent flex play with WR2 upside. I love Janis.

    More from Fantasy

Ryan Broyles Detroit Lions: Broyles was a highly touted wide receiver prospect out of Oklahoma a few years ago, but a couple of ACL tears curtailed his development drastically. I have him at 96 just in case there is a chance that he can become fantasy relevant.
